INTERVIEW with Elionor Buholzer

 

How many years have you been making movies?

I do have no ordinary education in filming.

It is not that I search for a film idea. The subject searches for me. And then there is no way to reject. The film needs to be made.

 

Tell us a little about your project. What will the audience be able to see in your film?

In this film you will see a person who dedicated his life to the mafia. A man with multiple caracter – not easy to put into one frame.

 

One of the problems some directors encounter is directing actors and dealing with some actors, especially in the amateur world. How do you see this topic? What kind of work do you do with them?

There are no actors in my movie, there are only people. I don't give instructions and I film without classifying or evaluating people.

 

A good movie takes care of all departments. But normally we can not allocate all the resources to have a good photography or spend a lot of money on sound post production or budget to hire actors. In your project what % have you allocated to. I don't just mean money but time as well. Of 100% of the time/money, what % did you dedicate to each department?

It may sound strange to you. I can't divide my work into percentages. I do a lot of things myself or work as a consultant in my very small team. I could rather say that I am in a flow with my mind, body and soul - During the working process I feel being in an intuitively designed journey.

why should I?

 

Make a wish to the movie gods. What do you ask?

In the connection to the movie gods, I feel protected. I hope that this film will travel around the world and reach the audience.

If you have more projects underway, can you give us a bit of information?

My new Project is showing the wild horses high up in the mountains. The way they gather, the way protect their foals and how they deal with weather conditions. Ti is a mystical world high up there.
